Cyberterrorism threats


Cyberterrorism is becoming real threat now. So what is Cyberterrorism? Cyberterrorism refers to internet based attacks in terrorist activities, including large-scale disruption of computer networks, acts of deliberate, especially of personal computers attached to the Internet, with the help of computer viruses.
According to Technolytics Institute, Cyberterrorism is defined as "The premeditated use of disruptive activities, or the threat thereof, against computers and/or networks, with the intention to cause harm or further social, ideological, religious, political or similar objectives. Or to intimidate any person in furtherance of such objectives."

In May 2007, there was a mass cyber-attack to the Estonia in the rouse of the elimination of a Russian World War II war memorial from downtown Tallinn. Almost all the Estonian government ministry network were hit and the attack was spread as denial-of-service attack in which some sites were flooded with traffic to force them offline. Even though rumors was that the attack had been linked to Russian government, Estonia's defense minister admitted he was not able to gather any evidence linking this cyber attacks to the Russian authorities.

Seven men arrested for helping Taliban


According to U.S Justice Department statement, two Americans among the seven men were charged for planning to aid the Taliban who are fighting the American troops in Afghanistan. It was said that these two men were suspected to sell weapons and drugs to Taliban fighters.
The rest five men were arrested for drug trafficking in and around Africa and were arrested for that in Liberia. According to the Justice Department Statement, they were charged for selling heroin to the Taliban in U.S.

U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said that “This alleged effort to arm and enrich the Taliban is the latest example of the dangers of an interconnected world in which terrorists and drug runners can link up across continents to harm Americans,”.All the seven after extradited, will be held in New York.
