Sitting on 10 January 2013, a number of bombings took place in the southwestern Pakistani city of Quetta and in the northern Swat Valley, killing a full of 130 people and wounded as a minimum 270. The Quetta bombings commanded to complaints by the city's Shia Muslim community.

Two were from SAMAA TV, Imran Sheikh had been a camera man for five years and the third camera operator for the channel who was slew while covering a bombing occurrence and Saifur Rehman was a journalist. Also killed in the assault was Iqbal Hussain, who was a journalist from the news agency News Network International. Rehman at first outlived the explosion but died later at a hospital from his wounded, while the other two died on the spot.

Prime Minister of Pakistan Raja Pervez Ashraf reacted by sacking the Chief Minister of balochistan, Aslam Raisani, and returns him with Zulfiqar Ali Magsi.
